VBOX Inc., a Minnesota based firm, was given FDA clearance to bring to market its portable oxygen concentrator. Touted by the company as the world’s first truly wearable O2 concentrator, the Trooper weighs only three pounds including the battery and is the size of a pair of binoculars.
A battery lasts for about three hours and each Trooper comes with a pair of them for a total of six hours of oxygen delivery. The company plans to make the Trooper available for purchase in the second quarter of next year, so hopefully we’ll soon be seeing more people that require oxygen participating in physical activities that would otherwise be nearly impossible without a small oxygen source.
• Small design allows the device to fit in a fanny pack or purse.
• Lightweight – only 3 Lbs (1.3 kg)
• Pulse delivered every breath, 1 to 5 LPM flow equivalence.
• Long lasting- 7.0 hours life @ 2LPM (2 batteries included: each lasting approx. 3.5 hrs. and weighing only 1/2 lbs.)
