STENTYS (Paris, France) has announced that it’s releasing a new delivery system in Europe for its Self-Apposing stent.
The improvements include a new hydrophilic coating for the delivery catheter and a redesigned control handle, both developed to make navigating through tortuous anatomy a bit easier on the physician.
The company’s Self-Apposing stent was designed to address the issue of vessel dilation post implantation. As the stented vessel heals around the implant site, the stent automatically adjusts to the anatomy around it, helping to reduce the chance of clot formation that’s common when improperly sized stents are installed.
