Intrinsic Medical Imaging won pre-market notification clearance from the FDA for the company’s Intrinsic 3D workstation. The system accepts CT scan data and generates detailed 3D imaging, potentially opening the door for virtual angioscopies.
According to the company, the system’s algorithms use uncompressed data when rendering, generating more precise visual details than traditional rendering systems while maintaining real-time navigation anywhere in the scanned volume.
High-performance algorithms process more than 100 times more operations per second than existing 3D solutions, generating an order-of-magnitude improvement in spatial resolution and image detail over existing standards. The IMI Spectrum 3D image visualization platform provides clinicians with diagnostic, planning and treatment solutions to enhance clinical accuracy and speed with the goal of saving lives.
