Barbara Bass, chair of the department of surgery at The Methodist Hospital in Houston, Texas and Professor of Surgery at Weill Cornell Medical College, spoke at TEDMED 2012 about the interactive nature of how surgery is learned and how little of that kind of learning is done later in a surgeon’s career. To that end The Methodist Hospital has developed a continuing learning environment and Dr. Bass spoke extensively of the motivations and thoughts that went into development of this space.
