There are reports out today that millions of LinkedIn user passwords have been leaked by faceless, shameless hackers. Undoubtedly, many of those affected have been using the same password-email combination across multiple sites, aggravating their security risk much further.
Working in the medical field, some of us realized a while ago that using identical passwords across various systems is simply not safe, while inventing new passwords for every site, device, or system is simply not practical. Moreover, software solutions like LastPass don’t offer portability across proprietary systems and when behind strict firewalls.
To address this problem, we created the PassMix system, a way for you to easily create unique passwords that you will never forget. It’s not a device or software, but is simply an idea we’re trying to spread to help clinicians secure their accounts and help protect patient privacy. Of course not only clinicians can take advantage of PassMix, and we hope many do.
