TEDMED 2012 will begin in less than one week! Medgadget, as always, will be reporting from the event floor, bringing you the latest news on cutting-edge developments in medical technology. This year, from April 10-13, 1,300 delegate experts from 300 medical and nonmedical disciplines will converge at the Kennedy Center in Washington D.C. to talk about the future of healthcare. Last year at TEDMED we heard fascinating talks and saw demonstrations of technologies like the bionic exoskeleton for paraplegics, as well as an organ printer that is already churning out artificial blood vessels for research. Knowing the TEDMED team, we look forward to an even richer conference this year with more amazing talks and memorable demos.
It will be a packed four days and we’ve already arranged exclusives with companies like Philips and Xerox as well as TEDMED speakers such as Dr. Marc Triola, who will be talking about using virtual patients to train medical professionals. This year’s line-up of speakers is quite impressive, and includes the directors of the NIH (Dr. Francis Collins) and CDC (Dr. Thomas Frieden), innovative researchers like Duke’s brain machine interface guru Dr. Miguel Nicolelis, and celebrities like Katie Couric and Billie Jean King. Feel free to contact us if you’d like any particular questions to be asked, and we’ll do our best. In the meantime, check out the TEDMED promo video below:
