Rock Health has been making waves as the first business incubator/accelerator focused on the health space. We have covered them many times and are always excited to report on the gadgets coming out of their startups. Selection to the accelerator is extremely competitive because in addition to an enviable network, office space, and funding, Rock Health provides its entrepreneurs with a curriculum – lead by industry leaders – to get them well-versed in issues surrounding the health start-up space. Now, through a beneficial partnership with the Kauffman Foundation, Rock Health is releasing recordings of its curriculum to the general community so even garage entrepreneurs can have access to expert advice.
The initiative is called Startup Elements and already features videos covering the following topics, which can be accessed here.
- IP & Patents, taught by a legal expert and law professor
- The FDA, taught by Obama’s former healthcare advisor
- Marketing, taught by Practice Fusion’s Chief Marketing Officer
- Accounting, taught by Moss Adams accountants
- HIPAA, taught by a member of Fenwick & West’s legal team
- Building Boards, taught by the founder of goBalto
They plan on adding a new video each week leading into June, and you can subscribe on their site to follow along. In explaining the new move, Rock Health’s CEO, Halle Tecco, had this to say:
“Rock Health’s core mission is to educate and recruit entrepreneurs and experts across tech, corporate, investment and medicine to create successful companies and major change in the healthcare system. We’re excited that the Kauffman Foundation is partnering with us on this initiative, and look forward to sharing our program with the entrepreneurial community at large.”
Our resident Rock Health entrepreneur, editor of Medgadget, and founder of Omada Health, Sean Duffy echoed these remarks:
It’s great to see Rock Health bring its curriculum to a broader audience of digital health entrepreneurs. I found the talks to be very valuable during the program and l plan to even re-watch a few now that they’re online!
