We’ve been watching the WATCHMAN, a device from Boston Scientific that prevents blood clots in patients with atrial fibrillation, for five years now. The WATCHMAN is designed to be placed in the left atrial appendage, so to prevent the formation of a thrombus.
Now JoVE, Journal of Visualized Experiments, has published details on the implantation of the device, including a video demonstrating how it’s done.
