IRadimed has launched the iMAGOX 2460, an MRI compatible SpO2 monitor. The company has already been offering an MRI-compatible IV pump system with an integrated SpO2 sensor, but has now split out the sensor part into a separate product.
The iMAGOX has a non-magnetic design with a large display and a fully functional wireless remote control, allowing for safe monitoring of patients from outside the scanner room.
More features, from the press release:
The system is intended for use in MRIs with magnet strength from 0.2T to 3T, and is completely operational up to the 10,000 Gauss line. The iMAGOX™ System also uses a specially designed fiber optic SpO2 sensor that, when used with the Masimo SET technology, provides reliable SpO2 readings during conditions of low perfusion and/or patient movement. Unlike conventional SpO2 monitors, iMAGOX™ uses no wires to connect to the patient which have been known to cause serious patient burns, and the iMAGOX™ System is not attracted to the magnet like other standard SpO2 systems.
The iMAGOX™ System’s large screen permits the patient’s SpO2 waveform and data to be viewed from several meters away. Transport to and from the MRI is made easy with iMAGOX™ System, as the Monitor is lightweight and can be easily attached to an existing IV pole or bedrail. This combined with the system’s extended battery operation makes the iMAGOX™ System a great choice for continuous patient monitoring before, during and after the scan. iMAGOX™ also provides an optional wireless remote display/control that does not require any installation and gives the operator complete visibility and control from outside the scanner room.
The iMAGOX is CE Marked and will be on show at the European Congress of Radiology in March.
