GE Healthcare has just announced diagnostic clearance by the FDA for company’s Centricity Radiology Mobile Access 2.0 application for iOS devices.
The technology allows clinicians to remotely access images and reports from GE’s Centricity picture archiving and communications platform (PACS), without downloading any personal data to the portable client device.
According to the press release:
The diagnostic clearance for Centricity Radiology Mobile Access 2.0 is limited to computed tomography and magnetic resonance exams on an iPad or iPhone when not in proximity to a PACS workstation.
This is the second mobile app for GE’s Centricity suite of products to be released in the space of a few months. Earlier this year we covered the release of GE’s Centricity Advance Mobile EMR system, an iPad/iPhone extension of its EMR for primary care physicians in small practices.
