Fluke Biomedical has received FDA clearance for its ProSim vital signs simulators. These patient simulators are meant for technicians and engineers to test patient monitors, simulating normal physiological signals and a variety of pathologic states.
There are two of them: the ProSim 4 is a portable touch-screen version for basic troubleshooting, offering 12-lead ECG simulation, respiration, IBP and NIBP testing. The ProSim 8 is a more comprehensive solution, useful for routine maintenance, simulating ECG, respiration, temperature, IBP/cardiac catheterization, cardiac output, NIBP and SpO2. Conditions that can be simulated vary from simple preset blood pressure levels to complex cardiac arrhythmias and fetal variable deceleration. Both simulators come with physiologically synchronized pulses across all parameters, barcode scanners and come with wired and wireless PC connectivity.
