The new Coyote balloon catheter from Boston Scientific, which has an ultra-low profile 0.017-inch balloon dilatation catheter, is designed to treat patients undergoing peripheral angioplasty procedures below the knee. It was made specifically for interventionalists treating demanding peripheral lesions, according to Jeff Mirviss, president of the company’s peripheral interventions division in a press release.
The catheter offers a seamless, tapered tip design to facilitate crossing. Its shape is said to improve deliverability.
The company has begun marketing the product in the United States, Europe, and other international markets. The balloon is available in lengths up to 220 mm in over-the-wire and the company’s proprietary Monorail platforms.
