Providence Medical Technology, Inc. out of San Francisco has announced CE Marking of its DTRAX Facet System. The new system is designed for minimally invasive treatment of cervical degenerative disc disease.
The DTRAX system works by inserting an implant into the affected facet joint, expanding the implant to free the pinched nerves, and inserting bone graft material into the treated joint to promote healing.
From the press release:
DTRAX is placed within the facet joints under x-ray guidance through 1 cm access tubes. The implant provides indirect decompression and stabilization to treat neck and arm pain associated with cervical degenerative disc disease. Providence Medical Technology completed enrollment of a 60 patient prospective, multi-center clinical trial to evaluate the safety and efficacy of DTRAX. The positive outcomes from this study supported the Company’s efforts to gain CE Marking.
