Outsourcing research is nothing new, but it can be hard to find the right people and institutions to conduct your experiments and the administrative side can be tedious too. Science Exchange is a recently launched website that aims to do something about that by providing an online marketplace for science experiments.
On the website you can post a proposal, after which other scientists will bid on it. Bids can then be evaluated based on price, experience, reputation and timeliness. If a bid is accepted, the work can be tracked on the website, which also takes care of payment, billing, administration, quality assurance and dispute resolution. Use of the site itself is free, but a transaction fee is charged on any outsourced experiments.
