GE Healthcare has released the Centricity Advance – Mobile, an iPad/iPhone version of its EMR for primary care physicians in small practices. Centricity Advance is a web-based EMR, Practice Management, and Patient Portal solution for medical practices with 10 or fewer physicians. The mobile version brings the complete EMR to the iPad, untethering the doctor from the computer. In addition to note-taking, prescription refills can be filled out and emailed questions can be answered directly from the app.
New prescriptions can be ordered, digitally signed and routed directly to a pharmacy. Lab results and upcoming appointments can be displayed, and you can use secure messaging or search Google within the patient record from an embedded browser. Although the app can be downloaded for free, it can only be used by customers who already have a license for the complete EMR.
