Oticon out of Somerset, NJ has released a new entry level hearing aid, the Oticon Ino, and a wireless lavaliere microphone that makes one-on-one conversations easier to maintain. The ConnectLine Microphone is an interesting solution to the fact that a great deal of conversations happen between individuals while there is a host of other interfering sounds being picked up by a hearing aid. The device is simply clipped onto the companion’s chest, much like an external cellphone mic, to give priority to the voice most in need of amplification.
The Oticon Ino is a value oriented hearing aid that delivers features common to more powerful devices, including the ConnectLine system that can stream audio from external devices like TV’s and phones, and mobile devices.
The discreet ConnectLine Microphone is worn by the user’s companion and connects wirelessly to the Streamer, allowing the user to hear the other person’s voice directly through his/her hearing instruments. With ConnectLine Microphone and other Connectline solutions including the ConnectLine TV Adapter and Phone Adapter, hearing device users have the potential to participate more actively and interact more naturally in some of life’s most important situations.
Powered by Oticon’s most advanced signal processing platform, RISE 2, Ino offers excellent sound quality, a rich and detailed sound picture, dynamic feedback cancellation and an 8 kHz bandwidth. Ino Pro’s embedded wireless connectivity capabilities allow users to switch seamlessly between entertainment and communication devices using the Streamer remote control. With the Streamer, Ino Pro can be used as a hands-free headset for cell phones and MP3 players with excellent clarity and audibility.
The addition of the ConnectLine system allows users to stream sound directly from the TV, landline telephone or music player with just the touch of a button. The new ConnectLine Microphone connects wirelessly to the Streamer to enable Ino users to conduct clear and private one-on-one conversations in challenging listening situations such as in noisy restaurants or when driving in a car where face-to-face communication is not an option.
