Recovering from a stroke can be a challenge as one side of the body tries to catch up with the other one. A new device recently released by Im-Able (Lower Hutt, New Zealand) uses video gaming to get the good arm to help rehab the one affected by a stroke. Like a airline pilot flight stick crossed with a Wii controller, the Able-X Bilateral Exerciser is used to play games on the computer. The company, which has already released the device to the Kiwi market, will be seeking US and EU approvals later this year.
