It looks like the next generation of kids is going to choose toy da Vinci robots over Tonka dump trucks. The Liberty Science Center, an interactive science museum and learning institution about a mile north of the Statue of Liberty, has for a while now been broadcasting live surgeries for school groups in one of their theaters. The kids can directly talk to surgeons as they’re working on the patient, and they get to see the entire operation from beginning to end.
This past weekend, the center had a da Vinci surgical robot for kids to try out operating for themselves. Sadly, live patients were not provided for a more genuine experience.
