Medical Tracking Solutions, a Jacksonville, Florida firm, has unveiled the iTraycer iPhone/iPad app to help hospitals and clinics track medical devices and other products on hand. By integrating FDA product recalls and expiration dates, the system can alert staff to quickly remove offending products from stock. Data about orders and inventory can be entered manually, or with an accompanying barcode or RFID reader. Using the phone’s built-in GPS technology, the system can even tag deliveries with precise location and time stamps. Android and Blackberry versions of the app are currently under development.
