A variety of assistive technologies are available to those with some form of disability – everything from wheelchairs to voice controlled devices. Eye tracking glasses are one such technology to emerge relatively recently, from a practical standpoint at least. These devices have the potential to improve the lives of those with motor disabilities, especially those with limited hand use. Tobii Technology of Danderyd, Sweden has unveiled their new eye tracking glasses, called Tobii Glasses. They promise “accurate, time-efficient, mobile eye tracking,” and could one day provide assistance in many areas such as communication, computer interaction, and ambulation.
