InnerSpace, Inc. from Tustin, CA has announced the American launch of their Hummingbird line of neuromonitoring devices, the Hummingbird Synergy, Hummingbird Ventricular, and Hummingbird Parenchyma. The devices allow for measurement of intracranial pressure (ICP), and the Synergy model can also monitor oxygen, temperature, and cerebral blood flow, and can allow for ventricular drainage.
From the press release:
The Hummingbird line offers a state-of-the-art ICP sensor, AirPulse™, which measures pressure through an air column. Hummingbird offers a number of industry “firsts.” AirPulse ICP eliminates the need for costly capital equipment between the sensor and the patient monitor, and can be re-zeroed while the sensor is in the brain. Hummingbird is MRI compatible and offers the only ventricular catheter with a sensor located in the parenchyma, thus avoiding measurement problems in a slit, shifted, or occluded ventricle.
