Covidien Launches EEA Hemorrhoid & Prolapse Stapler Set

Covidien has launched the EEA Hemorrhoid & Prolapse Stapler Set with DST series technology. It is used to treat hemorrhoids and rectal prolapse, and although still uncomfortable, internal stapling and excision of hemorrhoidal tissue is supposedly less painful than surgical hemorrhoidectomy. It consists of a circular 33mm diameter stapler with a detachable anvil with holes, and uses either 3.5mm or 4.8mm staples. Additionally, it includes a transparent winged access port and anoscope, and a dilator.
