It has been a while since the 2001 anthrax attacks but anthrax remains a potent bio-weapon that is notoriously hard to clean up. Anthrax spores can survive for long periods of time and decontamination is time-consuming and costly. However sBioMed has recently Environmental Protection Agency’s (EPA) approval for STERIPLEX Ultra, a product specifically designed for the remediation of anthrax spores. It destroys anthrax spores in less than 30 seconds during suspension tests and destroys anthrax spores in only 30 minutes when used on specialized carriers. sBioMed also hopes to gain approval for decontamination of other biothreats such as Smallpox, Bubonic Plague, Tularemia and Brucellosis. In the United States it will only be for purchase for EPA approved, sBioMed trained First Responders.
