American military doctors in Bagram, Afghanistan recently encountered a truly explosive patient. 
The apparently thick skulled Afghan army soldier was the recipient of a dud 14.5mm incendiary round. The nature of the foreign object was discovered after blasting the patient’s head with X-rays in a CT scanner, after which most devices in the OR were turned off to prevent something from potentially energizing the explosives.
