George K. Lewis, a biomedical engineering grad student at Cornell University, developed a portable ultrasound device for joint pain therapy. Currently this kind of therapy is usually administered inside clinics, but being able to take it home has great potential for pain management. Lewis’s device is soon slated to begin clinical trials at Weill Cornell Medical College.
