Physicians at the Bascom Palmer Eye Institute in Miami, Florida have restored vision to a woman with damaged corneas. The technique, called modified osteo-odonto-keratoprosthesis (MOOKP), used her own tooth to provide a base for a plastic lens that focused light on the retina.
