Two years ago, during worry about the spread of H5N1 avian flu out of Asia, Laurie Garrett, a science writer and fellow at the Council on Foreign Relations, gave a TED presentation about global epidemic control. Covering topics like the international response to local outbreaks and how local clinics can deal with the pathogen, it’s an interesting talk with which to analyze the current response to H1N1 influenza.
