Joshua Wolf Shenk of The Atlantic magazine spent a month in an archives vault of the Harvard Study of Adult Development, looking at data from one of the longest lasting observations of human lives. The Grant Study began following a group of 268 Harvard sophomores in 1937 and has been keeping tabs on their lives ever since. Now The Atlantic is providing some lessons about happiness and success in life as gleaned from the archives spanning over 70 years.
