Grey nurse sharks, an endangered species, have one of the most disturbing behavior patters in the animal world. The young, while still in the womb, cannibalize each other until only one is left in the uterus. This obviously does not help the population numbers of the species, as the double uterus animal can only have two children per birth. In response, Australian scientists at Port Stephens Fisheries Institute in New South Wales, Australia are developing artificial uteri to allow for greater numbers of the nasty buggers at birth.
