Caretools, a Westlake Village, California company, just received an honors award from the Medical Records Institute for the company’s iChart™ EMR software for the Apple iPhone. The award, presented at the TERP+ (Towards the Electronic Patient Record) meeting of the institute, recognizes winners for the “most innovative IT products that bring the most positive benefits or change to healthcare”.
The iChart features four separate modules:
iPrescribing: Track medication lists, drug allergies and prescription histories. Upload new prescriptions for print, fax or electronic fulfillment. Integrated mobilePDR reference and drug interaction checker.
iLab Reports: Track labs and studies using picklists and graphic shorthand symbols. Receive laboratory results and reports as wireless updates from regional and hospital lab systems (requires upgrade and lab connectivity).
iBilling: Capture Dx and Procedure Codes with a few taps. Customized favorites and bundled code-sets available. Complete CPT4 and ICD9 lists included. Billing reports can be uploaded for printing and further processing.
iNotes: Sophisticated note builder to construct H&Ps, SOAP and Procedure notes by tapping on hierarchical menus. Easily integrate photos and drawings with annotations.
