As the EMR marketplace gets crowded by companies vying to sell their wares, physicians and patients are reaping the benefits of ever improving and cheaper EMRs. Meet Capzule, a web based electronic medical record service that can now be accessed and managed via a dedicated iPhone application. In addition, Webahn Inc., the maker of the software, is slashing its monthly fees for physicians from $200 to $50 per doctor per month. The company is probably feeling the heat from other startups such as no-fee PracticeFusion.
More about Capzule:
Capzule makes it possible for physicians to care for their patients while off site. With the launch of the iPhone Web application for Capzule.com, an online service that provides electronic medical records to independent clinics, physicians can now easily connect with their office via their iPhone.
This new application provides physicians with greater flexibility in caring for their patients. They can review patient files on their mobile device, and provide quicker response times when away from the office.
Physicians can view messages, check their schedule, review charts, and write prescriptions. Doctors who treat patients in more than one location will greatly benefit. They can check on patients between hospital rounds, nursing home visits and more.
