As Michael Arrington from TechCrunch promised to, he spent the $1000 on a mail-in saliva DNA test from 23andMe, a Google spinoff that performs coding of single nucleotide polymorphisms at nearly 600,000 SNPs “scattered across the 23 pairs of chromosomes,” assuming that you are a human. The service supposedly correlates one’s genes to known findings within the scientific literature about those genes, and presents them in an accessible format.
