TechCrunch is reporting that Weblogs, Inc, a blogging company now owned by AOL, and most famously known for sites like Engadget and AutoBlog, has quietly closed down their line of life sciences blogs, including Cancer, Diabetes, and Cardio blogs. Interestingly enough, the wife of Jason Calacanis, founder of Weblogs Inc., has been CancerBlog’s editor for quite a few years, as we recall. We believe the pressure from independent, honestly passionate medical blogs was far too much for the multi-billion dollar conglomerate to compete with.
