The iPhone craze has a lot of us shaking our heads at the mindless consumerism that drives our lives… or maybe we’re just bitter that we won’t be able to get one for a while.
In the midst of all the hype, the organization Keep A Child Alive is sending some representatives to wait in line at an Apple store in SoHo, New York, purchase some iPhones, and then auction them off on eBay. The proceeds will then be used to purchase anti-retroviral treatment for African children with HIV.
Oh, did we forget to mention that the phones will be hand-delivered by “ambassadors,” such as: “Alicia Keys, Iman, Liv Tyler and Jessica Alba, among others.” It’s always nice when the world of healthcare, gadgets, and beautiful women come together to save the world.
