Last year, Mark and Mike set out to improve the lives of disabled children and now their vision of uniquely controlled radio cars is finally reaching the market.
This is the home of Dream-Racer a technology we designed to enable children and young adults with physical disabilities to “drive” radio controlled scale models such as cars or boats without the need to use a joystick.
Dream-Racer technology enables children with disabilities to use body movements to control their racing car. When we build Dream-Racer into a baseball cap the user controls their racing car by movements of their head.
We also have the ability to build the Dream-Racer technology into gloves or shoes to enable other users to play with radio controlled models produced by Nikko Toys, UK.
Originally the technology was developed for Daniel, a young boy that had been paralysed in a road accident. Almost immediately he found he could “drive” his racing car using simple head movements. Apart from the excitement this created, it helped boost his confidence and his general condition to improve.
Would you like to try it? Here’s your chance: if you are a teacher of disabled children or children with special educational needs and would like to see how Dream-Racer could help disabled children to learn new skills please get in touch.
We have built five sets (caps and cars) that we are using for demos and trials. Give Mike a call on 08707 117153 (international callers please call: +44 8707 117153) to arrange everything.
If any of our readers are fortunate enough to receive a demo version, we’d love to hear about your experience.
