You know those music subscription services, where all your download songs become unplayable if you stop paying the monthly fees? Yeah, we thought maybe organ donation was going to adopt a similar model.
Fortunately (or not), it turns out the article was about how kids with transplanted organs often lose their insurance when they emerge from their parents’ plan. Then, suddenly, they can’t afford expensive immunosupressant meds, which leads to transplant rejection.
Though we wouldn’t put past health insurance companies to get into the repo business…
