The DIY scene is growing by the minute in blogland, and the world of medgadgets is its latest foray. Over at e-dsp.com, good man Refik has posted a how-to on building an ECG.
Medgadget’s thoughts on the project? It needs some work. The scaling of the voltage is a little out of whack. The T-wave (the one after the Q-wave (the one after the P-wave… nevermind)) is huge. Clinically this would imply that this man is having a heart attack at this very moment, which hopefully he isn’t.
Secondly, as readers were kind enough to point out, there’s always the possibility of shocking the crap out of yourself while trying to use the device, which ironically could cause an arrhythmia (the exact thing you’d be checking for with an ECG!)
Can’t wait to see version 2.0!
