Yesterday we realized that spammers, using our server, were sending email messages to thousands of individuals. The server function they were using was “email this article,” a service function available after each post. Once we realized what was going on, we contacted our server provider Hosting Matters.
We believe that our internal email list, and our server were not hacked. The spam was sent to individuals, with spammers providing addresses. Medgadget.com’s server was simply a conduit. We believe in your privacy, and take this matter very seriously. If you are on our emailing list, and have received spam from @www.medgadget.com, please contact us. We will further investigate this matter.
