Flipping Off the Programmed Death Switch

Three research teams from across the world (Université de Montréal, Harvard’s Mass General, NIH and University of KwaZulu Natal in South Africa) have identified how HIV turns off a molecular switch called programmed death-1 (PD-1), thus inactivating killer T cells’ mediated immune response.
