One of the companies discussed in the article is Marlborough, Mass. based Cytyc, a manufacturer of NovaSure® Endometrial Ablation system that can be used in the office, instead of OR. Doctors particularly appreciate $1,100 for an in-office ablation reimbursements vs. $350 for in-hospital ablation, according to the article.

The bipolar electrode expands from the slender sheath and automatically conforms to the dimensions of the uterine cavity.
The system insufflates the uterine cavity with CO2to [sic] check for cavity integrity and to ensure proper placement of the device.
