How do the British do it? Their citizens healthier than age- and vice-matched Americans, even as their hospital servers are overrun by music files.
Meanwhile, our hospital administrators in the States are so restrictive, they prevent interns and residents from browsing most web addresses ending in “.com” — even the useful, enlightening www.medgadget.com isn’t spared.
Surely there’s a happy medium. But in the meantime, we wonder about correlation and causation: in one country, there’s a laid-back happy hospital staff and a healthier citizenry — in this country, music-free nose-to-the-grindstone residents and sicker people at every age.
We’ll think about it while listening to some vintage Sleater-Kinney…
