The Interdisciplinary Center for Technology Analysis and Forecasting at Tel-Aviv University [ICTAF] has posted a “survey of experts” administered by the EU “Nano-to-Life” [N2L] group and authored by Aharon Hauptman and Yair Sharan (someone forgot to tell them that it should be “Nano 4 Life”). 139 experts were surveyed on their opinions as to when and how certain technologies would come to life over the next 30 years.
Unfortunately, the survey presentation is only availible in .pdf form, and is truly constructed like a presentation (which means there’s no great paragraphs to harvest for a blockquote). Some highlights include low agreement that “cells on chips” will replace animal testing and that in-vitro construction of human organs will probably launch somewhere around 2018.
