Apologies and a Request

First a request. Since we are not eligible for the Medical Weblog Awards–the most prestigious awards out there–we would like to ask for your support. Please nominate Medgadget for this year’s Bloggies. Tomorrow is the last day to be nominated, so we thank you in advance!
Now for apologies. Last week was certainly full of surprises for us. Our Berkeley database, the backbone behind Movable Type publishing system, got corrupted and crashed–a problem never seen here before. Thankfully, the website was not affected, but publishing could not be done. The flatlined Berkeley could not be resuscitated. So now we have a shiny new MySQL DB up and running. The website is now faster and more stable. A couple outstanding issues to solve (news feeds, etc), and we’ll be done. Our apologies for not posting.
