Engadget reports that NexTMobile is bringing their colorblindness-testing cellphone service to Europe. They call it EyeTest, and it involves logging into specialized website images.
I might have disregarded this as just more cellphone fluff, but I had a recent travel experience: I overheared a man arguing with his wife for probably 30 minutes about a photo in a magazine. He couldn’t accept that he was missing some color distinctions. This mobile service might have shut him up (and it’s tempting to imagine a cellphone prompting less conversation, not more.)
EyeTest also examines visual acuity.
