EpiFLO is a device cleared by the FDA to provide safe and effective transdermal sustained oxygen delivery for the treatment of chronic wounds, as well as skin grafts, burns, and frostbites. Ogenix Corporation, the maker of the device, has been awarded by Frost&Sullivan with the 2005 Wound Care Devices Excellence in Technology of the Year Award.
EpiFLO(sd) consists of a small, silent, disposable, oxygen concentrator and a 43″ long sterile cannula (tube). It is used with any fully occlusive sterile wound dressing to continuously blanket the wound with oxygen. The patient is free to ambulate and can continue with normal daily living activities while being treated 24 hours per day for 7 days. EpiFLO(sd) is worn near the wound beneath clothing without impairing its operation.
