Frost & Sullivan hosted its first Excellence in Healthcare Awards Banquet on February 15th in London, England (press release). This prestigious event honored today’s best innovators of the healthcare industry. Vivolution A/S of Denmark has received the Product Innovation Award.
According to Vivolution A/S, the company manufactures two systems that help surgeons do better and safer surgeries:
— Vivostat® autologous fibrin sealant is used during surgery to prevent and stop bleedings and oozing of body fluids.
— Vivostat® PRF® autologous platelet rich fibrin
is used to promote cell growth for a range of procedures e.g. orthopaedic surgery and wound healing.
Interestingly, according to the company, Vivostat® autologous fibrin sealant system “incorporates a unique and patented biochemical process that produces an autologous sealant from 120 ml of the patient’s own blood in only 23 minutes. The sealant has biophysical properties that outperform most sealants on the market today…”
