At this week’s DEMO@15 Conference, Satori Labs introduced their FusionForm for Healthcare, a souped-up clipboard and ballpoint pen combo that is intended to ease the transition to electronic healthcare documentation and order entry.
Satori FusionForm combines a wireless, digitizing ballpoint pen, specialized paper, a clipboard with an integrated wireless PDA, and Satori Labs’ groundbreaking software.
Using their own medical forms printed on digital paper and a digitizing pen, physicians can instantly turn their free-form clinical notes, diagnoses, prescriptions, and tests requisitions into digital data.
We’re not sure what the genetic implications of mating a PDA with a clipboard might be, but we certainly have noticed a certain reluctance in our industry to jump on the electronic bandwagon, so intermediate solutions like this one may offer some promise.
