Those of you, that are skeptical like myself about the use of today’s robots in performing intellectual or semi-intellectual tasks, should read this article in the latest Wired magazine. The robot based at the University of Wales is in many ways a true biomed researcher. It independently postulates a hypothesis, performs a series of biochemical in vitro experiments, sorts through the data and analyses it to perform some additional needed research. The process is complete when the robot scientist makes its conclusions.
