The Labor'Lert is used to simplify the timing and recording of a woman's labor contractions. This usually occurs before the woman calls her doctor and heads to the hospital. In most cases, a women starts labor gradually, with each labor pain getting closer and closer together over a period of hours. The Labor'Lert works by pressing a button when the woman feels her first contraction. She then presses the button again at the end of the contraction. Each time before and after each contraction, she repeats the same process. The Labor'Lert will record and display 1) how many contractions the woman has had during the past three hours; 2) how long each contraction lasted; 3) how far apart the contractions are; and 4) when the last contraction occurred.

This information can then be used to inform the doctor, midwife,or doula of the status of a woman's early labor signs, and can help to avoid false labor incidents. The unit is lightweight, and is backlit so a woman can use it in the dark.

The Labor'lert is a very useful tool for people who want to time and record their labor pains more accurately, and conveniently.
