Anti-theft devices are high-power RFID readers. They therefore produce powerful electromagnetic fields capable of inducing currents in all electronic devices.

Which brings me to my demand, repeated in as many blogs as possible, never answered: can I please purchase an RFID reader detector? By this I mean a little device that will beep when I approach an RFID reader. The technology is very simple, the device could be small and cheap. Two kinds of people would be interested in this gadget: civil liberties advocates and pacemaker wearers.

PS: what about ePass readers, used to facilitate highway toll payment? Same technology, even more powerful fields.
